Tim McKinnel has worked as in investigator around the world, beginning as a detective in South Auckland, before working in London, Africa and Asia. He has a particular interest in environmental and human rights investigations, and is continuing to develop a specialisation in those areas. In 2009 Tim began to investigate the Teina Pora case, which took him from South Auckland gang pads to the Privy Council in London over a period of almost seven years. He holds a Masters in Social Science (Criminology) degree and is an Associate Member of New Zealand Law Society.
